  • 1981 – Natalie Portman who played “Queen Padmé Amidala” in “Star Wars I, II & III,” and co-starred in “Mars Attacks!” and “V For Vendetta.”
  • 1980 – James DeBello, who starred in the films “Ghouls,” “Swinfan” and “Cabin Fever.”
  • 1963 – Johnny Depp who has starred in numerous films including “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow,” “The Ninth Gate,” “A Nightmare on Elm Street,” “From Hell,” “Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street”, “Dark Shadows” remake and more.
  • 1961 – Michael J. Fox who starred in “The Frighteners,” “Mars Attacks!” and “Teen Wolf.”
  • 1927 – R. Wright Campbell who wrote the screenplays for the films “Teenage Caveman,” “The Masque of the Red Death” and “Man of a Thousand Faces.” He is the brother of actor William Campbell who played “Trelane” in the original Star Trek series.
  • 1919 – Gerd Oswald who directed episodes of the old and new “Outer Limits” as well as the original “Star Trek.”
  • 1910 – Producer Bernard Woolner, one half of the famous Woolner Brothers production team. Some of his credits include “Attack of the 50 ft. Woman,” “Mutiny In Outer Space” and “Hillbillies In a Haunted House.”

DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY 

  • 2014 – Rik Mayall, was a hilarious British comedian known for his 80’s Britcom “The Young Ones (TV Series)”. He would go on to appear in many films and TV shows in comedic roles but he also appeared in “An American Werewolf in London”, “Shock Treatment”, “Cold Dark”, “The Legend of Harrow Woods”, “Evil Calls”, “Highway to Hell” and more. He passed away at the age of 56 from a heart attack.
  • 2000 – Chester Hayes, an ex-professional wrestler, who played “Tabanga” in “From Hell It Came,” passed away at the age of 86.
  • 1993 – Peter Coe who appeared in the films “House of Frankenstein” and “The Mummy’s Curse,” passed away at the age of 75.
  • 1990 – The founder of Hammer Films, James Carreras, passed away at the age of 80.
  • 1985 – Clifford Evans, appeared in Hammer films’ “The Curse of the Werewolf” and “The Kiss of the Vampire.” He passed away at the age of 73.
  • 1870 – Charles Dickens passed away at the age of 58.
