  • 1976 – Emmanuelle Vaugier, who appeared in “Ripper,” “Unearthed” “Saw II & IV.”
  • 1974 – Joel Edgerton, has starred in “The Gift”, “The Thing” remake, and “Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones.”
  • 1972 – Selma Blair, has appeared in “Hellboy II: The Golden Army”, “Hellboy”, “The Fog” remake and more.
  • 1969 – Martin Klebba, who appeared in the three “Feast” films, the three “Pirates of the Caribbean” films and “Van Helsing.”
  • 1964 – Writer/producer/director, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” creator Joss Whendon.
  • 1962 – Billy Wirth, has appeared in “Lost Boys”, “Seven Mummies”, “Charmed (TV Series)”, “Body Snatchers”, “Tales from the Crypt (TV Series)”, and more.
  • 1962 – Kevin Yagher, is one of the top makeup effects artists in Hollywood. He worked on “A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge”, creating the Freddy Krueger makeup. He also created the “Chucky” animatronic puppet for the films “Child’s Play” and
  • 1957 – Frances McDormand who starred in “Fargo,” “Blood Simple” and “Dark Man.”
  • 1955 – Glenn Danzig, musician and avid horror fan. He was the lead singer of horror punk band The Misfits, which sung almost exclusively about horror movies. He later went on to form the bands Samhain and Danzig.
  • 1953 – Russell Mulchay, who directed “Resident Evil: Extinction,” “Highlander,” “Highlander II” and “The Shadow.”
  • 1930 – Bob Kelljan who directed “Blacula,” “Scream Blacula Scream,” “Count Yorga” (which he also produced) and “The Return of Count Yorga.”
  • 1915 – Dennis Price was a British actor who appeared in “Son of Dracula”, “Theater of Blood”, “The Erotic Rites of Frankenstein”, “Drácula contra Frankenstein”, “Horror on Snape Island”, “Twins of Evil”, “Vampyros Lesbos”, “The Horror of Frankenstein”, “Horror House” and many more.
  • 1900 – Jack Shea who appeared in “Retik the Moon Monster,” “Satan’s Satellites” and “Zombies of the Stratosphere.”
  • 1884 – Werner Krauss who appeared in the 1926 version of “The Student of Prague” and of course played the title role in “The Cabinet of Dr. Calagari.”

DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY

  • 2013 – Richard Matheson, acclaimed writer of such novels and screenplays as “The Incredible Shrinking Man”, “Burn,Witch,Burn”, “Pit and the Pendulum”, “I Am Legend”, “The Devil Rides Out”, “‘It’s Alive!’”, “Duel”, “The Night Stalker”, “The Legend of Hell House” and many more. He was 87.
  • 2006 – Aaron Spelling, who created and produced many TV series and movies including “Kindred; The Embraced,” “Crowhaven Farm,” and “Satan’s School For Girls.” passed away at the age of 83.
  • 2001 – Paul Schreibman who produced the American versions of “Gigantis the Fire Monster” and “First Spaceship on Venus,” passed away at the age of 92.
  • 1998 – Maureen O’Sullivan, starred in “The Devil-Doll” and the entire series of “Tarzan” films. She passed away at the age of 87.
  • 1959 – Robert E. Barnes who was assistant director on the films “Catwomen on the Moon” and “Robot Monster,” passed away at the age of 68.
