- 1980 – Minka Kelly, has appeared in “Almost Human (TV Series)”, “The Roommate”, “The Pumpkin Karver” and “Devil’s Highway.”
- 1969 – Jensen Daggett, probably best known to genre fans for playing the lead in “Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.” She has also appeared in “Asteroid (TV Movie)” and more.
- 1958 – Ex-WWE wrestler “Zeus” a.k.a. Tommy “Tiny” Lister. He appeared in “The Dark Knight,” “Wishmaster 2: Evil Never Dies,” “Dracula 3000″ and “Vegas Vampires.”
- 1950 – Nancy Allen who starred in “Dressed To Kill,” “Robocop, “Children of the Corn 666: Issac Returns” and “Carrie.” She originally was slated to play the role of “Carrie,” but the part went to Sissy Spacek, who originally was supposed to play Allen’s role. Get it? Good, cause I don’t! And speaking of “Robocop”…
- 1947 – Peter Weller who played the title role in “Robocop,” and starred in the films “The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai,” “Sreamers” and “Leviathan.”
- 1936 – The late Paul L. Smith, appeared in “Haunted Honeymoon”, “Crimewave”, “Dune”, “Pieces” and more.
- 1891 – Irving Pichel who appeared in the film “Dracula’s Daughter” and directed the films “Destination Moon” and “The Most Dangerous Game.”
- 1842 – Ambrose Bierce who wrote the story on which the “Twilight Zone” episode “An Occurrence At Owl Creek” was based.
DIED ON THIS DAY IN HORROR HISTORY
- 2014 – Incredible character actor Eli Wallach, known best for his roles in Westerns such as “The Good, the Bad and the Ugly”, “How the West Was Won”, and “The Magnificent Seven.” He also appeared in a few genre roles, “Tales of the Unexpected (TV Series)”, “The Sentinel”, “Lights Out (TV Series)” and more. He passed away at the age of 98.
- 2003 – AIP producer Alex Gordon, who produced “The She Creature,” “The Atomic Submarine” and “Voodoo Woman,” passed away at the age of 80.
- 1998 – Henry G. Saperstein who produced the American versions of several Toho films, passed away at the age of 80.
- 1997 – Brian Keith who is most well known for playing “Uncle Bill” on the TV series “Family Affair,” passed away at the age of 75. He appeared in the film “Meteor,” and was the voice of “Uncle Ben” in the “Spider-Man” cartoon series.
- 1973 – Make-up artist Bud Westmore passed away at the age of 55.
