Werewolves are really making a comeback lately and, Hell, maybe Lindsay Lohan can score a comeback, too!
This horror-thriller has been chugging along for some time now, leading people to believe that it might not happen at all. Well, the one sheet for The Shadow Within has discretely appeared on the internet and it’s… somewhat underwhelming. This has me thinking that the movie will be more of a drama-thriller than anything else, with the werewolf aspects thrown in for an extra kick. Everything just seems too toned down to be horror.
Written by Mark Morgan and directed by Tiago Mesquita, The Shadow Within follows a private investigator who must unravel the murder of her uncle all while keeping the secret that she is a descendant from a line of werewolves. The film was scheduled to premiere at Cannes Film Festival in 2016, but it never debuted.
It stars Lindsay Lohan (Parent Trap, Mean Girls), Gianni Capaldi (The Wicked Within), Charlotte Beckett (“Penny Dreadful”), Oliver Englebert, Dominik Madani, Reynald Biales and Barry Jay Minoff. The Shadow Within will be Lohan’s first mainstream movie role since 2013’s The Canyons and her return to horror where she was last seen in 2007’s I Know Who Killed Me.
