I have many obsessions. Horror, obviously, along with slashers, zombies, Goosebumps, anything from the 80s, boobs, and finally, Vampire Hunter D.
I first found out about the iconic dhampire from a friend who had the anime Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust on VHS. I watched them both and was instantly hooked. I soon bought Vampire Hunter D: Volume 1 when it was released by Dark Horse Publishing. I could not get enough. Over time I have bought dozens of the books, the comics, and both films on bluray. My wife says it’s a sickness but I see nothing wrong with it. The story is riveting and knows no bounds.
Today I was browsing Facebook which is something I do when I find my mind wondes when I’m working on a review when I found a Kickstarter campaign for a new Vampire Hunter D comic by Strange Comics. This new series, Message from Mars, is based on an unreleased short from series creator Hideyuki Kikuchi. The series is currently running a crowd funding campaign where those that contribute can get some pretty rad perks.
Fans of comics and D should check it out and contribute!
