  • 1988 – Duane Jones who played “Ben” in “Night of the Living Dead”, Jones was the first African-American to have a starring role in a horror film! He also appeared in “Ganja & Hess” and “Fright House,” passed away at the age of 51 from cardiopulmonary arrest.
