Horror is one of the most unpredictable genres of film. It constantly demonstrates that no matter the budget, no matter the legacy, any film is capable of receiving a sequel as long as a small cult following exists.
Although 1992’s Evil Night saw a remake in 2014, the independent franchise is getting its first direct sequel in 2016 and it’s coming straight from filmmaker Jason Harlow. While Harlow co-wrote and produced 2015’s Cleaver: Rise of the Killer Clown, Another Evil Night stands to be his feature length directorial debut as well as another title he headed as writer and executive producer. He is joined in this adventure by screenwriter Justin Bates of The Wicked One and Pig Girl fame.
Another Evil Night will tell the story of a disturbed teen who takes on the guise of a creepy clown and exacts revenge upon a group of party-goers on Halloween. It will be interesting to see how the guise of Jimmy Fisher returns in this slasher flick that is keeping tight lipped on starring cast. So far only Nicholas Patten, Kayla Williams and Aaron Taylor Morrow have been announced, with Patten appearing in the upcoming slasher The Wicked One and Morrow being a featured extra in The Hunger Games Saga and in episodes of “Nashville.”
Another Evil Night already has a built in DVD and VOD distribution deal that’s slated to take place in 2017 to coincide with the 25th anniversary of Todd Jason Cook’s 1992 shot-on-video slasher, Evil Night.
More on this soon, but for now check out the killer opening sequence below.
