The Creative Arts portion of the annual Emmy Awards Ceremony took place over the weekend and it appears that a few television shows were able to take the lead over “Game of Thrones.” While “The Walking Dead” was unfairly snubbed for another year, FX’s hit anthology series “American Horror Story” took home two awards for its Hotel season. This brings the series’ total award count to nine when counting the behind-the-scenes accolades.

The performance portion of the ceremony and the announcement of the winners will take place on September 18, 2016. Kathy Bates and Sarah Paulson are both nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or a Movie category for their roles in “American Horror Story: Hotel.” Bring home the gold, ladies!
