Paramount Pictures today has announced some shuffling for a couple of their big budget horror franchises. Rings and Friday the 13th reboot have both been pushed back to 2017 release dates.

Rings, another sequel to the Naomi Watts hit The Ring, moves from its scheduled opening on October 28 to February 3, 2017.

Rings again revolves around the mysterious, if now ever-more-dated videotape from The Ring that will kill you in seven days after you watch it — only now it has finally made its way onto the internet.

In the upcoming sequel, a woman becomes worried about her boyfriend when he explores a dark subculture surrounding the tape after he has viewed it. She sacrifices herself to save him and in doing so makes a horrifying discovery: There is a “movie within the movie” that no one has ever seen before.

The Friday the 13th reboot has been booted from January to a Halloween slot, a more appropriate choice. Look for the new film to now open on October 13th, 2017.
