He started acting at the age of 7 in unsold pilots and bit parts in television shows, but his career didn’t take off until he booked the role of Michael Channing in “Falcon Crest” from 1988 to 1990. Armed with a new set of skills due to constant learning, Robert landed the supporting role of Scott Norman in 1991’s Sometimes They Come Back and a small part in Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead. Following guest appearances in episodes of “Empty Nest” and “Quantum Leap,” Gorman was cast in Forever Young (1991) and was featured in the short lived show “Joe’s Life.”

In 1993 the actor booked another important role as Alex in Leprechaun. Playing an integral part in the demise of the pint-sized terror, Leprechaun opened at #9 at the box office and is one of the biggest cult classics in horror. In the same year he booked a part in Rookie of the Year, which brings me back to a fond time in my old childhood. Rounding out the 90’s, Robert made guest appearances in episodes of “Boy Meets World,” “Deadly Games” and “Full House” before recurring as Marshall Solomon in “The Home Court” from 1995 to 1996.

So, where is Robert Hy Gorman now?

He took a break from Hollywood from 1996 to 2004, probably to enjoy a normal life while he attended Wake Forest University. Sometime after graduating, he ended his hiatus and was featured in episodes of “Surface,” “One Tree Hill” and “Drop Dead Diva” in 2009. Though he has since gone into hiding again, he produced a drama titled Road Warrior this year. Robert is also married with children and is a wealth manager adviser at The Gorman Financial Group. Something tells me he doesn’t need to act to pay the bills anymore. Well done.
