The great thing about the horror genre and those who create movies in it is that we can take any fad and make it into a movie. Facebook, Selfies, The Charlie Charlie Challenge… Hell, even Pokemon has been the recipient of two horror treatments. So, why not capitalize on the easiest way to get home if you’re wasted or your car exploded? I’m talking about play store apps like Lyft and Uber that allow you to hail a cab no matter where you are in America. Lenny Lenox invents his own app – Fetch (can we get a Mean Girls endorsement here?) – and is turning it into a mass murder by use of his upcoming film, Killer Dave.
Killer Dave tells the story of a loner, Dave, working as a driver for Fetch. Dave is already on the edge and struggling to keep it together when he is tasked with picking up four drunk women from a party. Their antics and shenanigans finally push him over the edge, break his sanity and send him into a spiral of revenge that leads him down a bloody, murderous road. Sounds a lot like One Hour Photo meets Death Proof! Where do we sign up? Wait, not so fast! Lenny Lenox’s film needs your help in filling its gas tank of production. A Kickstarter campaign has been launched in hopes of raising $15,000 to go towards Killer Dave.
Your donations will go directly towards the casting the actresses and actors and hiring sound recordist, mixers, camera operators, gaffers, special effects artists, production assistant, food supervisors and everything in between. By donating, you can earn yourself social media thanks, a link to the completed movie, the film’s official poster, an exclusive behind-the-scenes video, signed copy of the script and your name in the closing credits. Take a look at the proof of concept short below and then click here to donate to Killer Dave.
