30 Years Later Amanda Wyss is Still Killing the Competition.

A nightmare doesn’t always have to end on Elm Street. For actress Amanda Wyss, well, she’s still screaming years later! The Freddy Krueger feature wasn’t her start in the genre, believe it or not – this can be chalked up to a small role in 1981’s The House Possessed. And, while not horror related, who could forget her supporting role as Lisa in Fast Times at Ridgemont High! Though most people will recognize Amanda for playing Tina in A Nightmare on Elm Street, which was in the top 40 films of 1984, her catalogue of appearances is much more diverse. Wyss kept the ball rolling and has worked consistently in Hollywood where she’s made over 30 guest appearances in television shows on almost every network and was a recurring player on “Highlander” as Randi McFarland from 1992 to 1993.

Luckily for us, and as a testimate to her star power within the genre, Amanda was and is very active in the horror scene. She fronted the franchise in To Die For and Son of Darkness: To Die For 2, lead Shakma with Christopher Atkiins, and popped up in Black Magic Woman in 1991. She continued to act in Hollywood, but wouldn’t return to the world of blood and gore until star-studded The Graves in 2009. A mere six years later and she played the lead role in The Id, cementing her place as one of the most desired women in the business. With all these successes and experiences behind her, Amanda Wyss concurred 2016 with a recurring role in “Murder in the First” and a lead role in 360 Degrees of Hell.

2017 is shaping up to be another banner year for the actress. With more characters and projects sure to be announced on the horizon, Amanda Wyss already has a number of projects on the burner for this year – some that may even reach us before December! If rumors are correct, we should see Alice: The Hatred by February or March. Alice: The Hatred will see Amanda in a lengthy supporting role in the film by Michael Kehoe, who made waves in the short film scene with Hush. A science fiction flick, The Capture, is also due for release this year. Towards the end of 2017, we’ll see Amanda paired with another Elm Street Queen, Lisa Wilcox (Alice in A Nightmare on Elm Street 4 & 5), in short film The Watcher of Park Place. And we may see her in domestic violence short It Happened Again Last Night.

With so many interest projects coming out, I can’t wait to see where this Scream Queen ends up next. Keep it up, Amanda!
