No, The Nanny isn’t a horror film about Fran Drescher… at least I hope not!
In recent online interviews, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” star Nicholas Brendon has started plugging an upcoming scifi film titled The Nanny. No information is widely available at this time, except for confirmed cast and crew members. Jaime Murray (“Defiance,” “Dexter,” “Warehouse 13”) will co-star alongside Brendon, with the duo possibly making up a married couple that hires an insane house-keeper. Schuyler Fisk (Orange County), Jennifer Marshall (“A Haunting”), Nick Gomez (“The Walking Dead”), Christian Graniere (“Days of Our Lives”), Robert Zarchar (“Power Rangers”) Jadin Harris and Elle Coventry are also receiving top billing.
The Nanny is written by Ed Dougherty (VHS: Viral) and Marcel Sarmiento (The ABC’s of Death) with Joel Novoa (Day of Reckoning) serving as director. Patrick Ewald (Tales of Halloween) and Shaked Berenson (JeruZalem) produced. With all these fantastic credits behind-the-scenes, The Nanny stands a chance at being pretty twisted!
The film is currently being represented by Epic Group Pictures, the company responsible for putting out Big Ass Spider, Mark of the Witch and Old 37.
Nicholas Brendon, who recurred in “Criminal Minds” and starred in Coherence, also stated that The Nanny will make its way to the SyFy Channel sometime this year.
