Not many movies can become a franchise.  Most lose traction by the second or third film and quickly derail.  However, Charles Band is the king of creating franchises.  Most horror fans know about Band from his Puppet Master and Trancer series.  The Puppet Master series is very popular among horror fans and the series still being released to this day.  Band is not showing any signs of slowing down and continues to release horror franchises.

In recent years Band has released the Gingerdead Man, Killjoy, and Evil Bong franchises with them all connecting with each other.  Personally, I love these films and look forward to a new one every time it is announced.  Of all the recent films I enjoy the Evil Bong films the most so when it was announced that Band and Full Moon would be releasing Evil Bong 666 I had to see it.  I reached out to them and they were kind enough to send a review copy my way.  Thanks guys!

**Spoiler Alert**The film follows Satan worshipping Lucy Furr (Robinson) who has purchased the weed shop in Larnell’s absence.  She lures people into her head shop and once they toke she kills them and uses their souls to see into sexy hell.  During one of her sacrifices she accidentally releases the evil bong Ebee.  Rabbit (Davis) returns to the shop when he learns that it has reopened and discovers her evil plan.  When she opens the doors to sexy hell she tries to convince Beelzbud to take over Earth but Rabbit and Ebee create the Gingerweed Man to save the day.**Spoiler Alert**

I don’t expect a masterpiece when I toss in an Evil Bong movie.  What I do expect is a lot of cheesy stoner jokes, nudity, and a corny good time.  The Evil Bong series has started to run its course by this point with each film drastically losing its appeal after the third installment.  Evil Bong 666 was still entertaining but the story is worn pretty thin by now.

The acting in this one is more of what we got in the previous films.  This particular film stars Mindy Robinson who has been subject to my reviews many times in the past.  She is a gorgeous woman and I have to say I really enjoy her whole “goth” look in this film.  She has an amazing on screen presence and looks great to boot.  We also see Sonny Carl Davis return as Rabbit.  He brings in a few chuckles here and there but I was very disappointed that John Patrick Jordan did not return as Larnell.  His character was very entertaining in the previous installments so it was a bit disappointing not seeing him on screen.

The story for this one was lacking.  I enjoyed the concept of Sexy Hell and Beelzbud but the film felt very small and claustrophobic.  Most of the film takes place in the shop or a tiny corner in Sexy Hell making it feel almost like a daytime soap.  The film has no range and focuses more on the stoner humor than story.  Sadly, the stoner humor is played out by this point and no new material is used with the exception of two new bud based characters.

Finally, this one does have a few on screen kills but they are nothing like horror fans expect.  No blood and gore for you sick fucks out there.  There is some funny looking puppets and a ton of visual effects but that is it.  Overall, Evil Bong 666 is still a fun watch but Band and company are scraping the bottom of the barrel at this point.  Personally, I feel like he needs to spread his wings and work on a new film or series.
