The Brainwashing of Claire Wray
With science fiction thriller Fighting the Sky being showcased at this month’s Cannes Film Festival, filmmaker Conrad Faraj is undertaking a new, dark adventure with The Brainwashing of Claire Wray. The film will follow a young model who is invited to an outdoor fashion retreat hosted by a prolific photographer, only to find herself consumed with paranoia as she believes an unearthly presence is haunting her.
Faraj says about the upcoming movie, “These past few years have made me realize that ANY movie is a massive time commitment. You have to believe in the story for so long. You have to fight for it, embrace it, live within its world. It’s an intoxicating feeling as you become submerged in your art. I’ve spent the last several months thinking of a story worthy of such a commitment. I needed something spectacular, powerful and fresh. What my team and I have come up with is a genre-bending film that intertwines horror and science fiction with a psychedelic edge. My entire career as an independent filmmaker has been leading up to this.”
Casting is scheduled to begin this month, with production slated to roll camera this August in Cleveland, Ohio. The Brainwashing of Claire Wray will be financed and produced by Conrad Studios, LLC.
