Backward Creep is about a group of cosplayers driving to an anime convention who think they accidentally hit someone with their car but soon they realize something very evil is after them.
The film stars Vanessa Gisselle Thompson as the group’s driver, Lisa, Brian Lee as her boyfriend, Dio, Dany Lofgren as their newbie cosplayer friend, Josie, and Crystal Cleveland as the supernatural entity known as the Ushiro Girl.
The film is directed, written and edited by Christopher G. Moore who produced it along with Amanda Stone. FX Supervisor Matt Patterson created all the practical gore effects and the Ushiro Girl mask. The Lolita dress for the Ushiro Girl and parts of the other actors outfits were made specifically for the movie by Elizabeth Caddy.
The film had its World Premiere at the recent Women in Horror Film Festival where it won the Narrative Drive award sponsored by the Austin Revolution Film Festival.
The makers hope to use Backward Creep to sell a feature film version that showcases more of their unique female horror villain, the Ushiro Girl. They’ll be offering Backward Creep merchandise soon to help raise money for a feature.
People can follow the film on their social media accounts on FB, Instagram and Twitter under ”BackwardCreep.”
