Found footage horror director Joshua Brucker is happy to announce that horror legend Michael Berryman has joined the cast of his next film, The Forge Creek Recordings.
With plans to begin shooting in October in Georgia, The Forge Creek Recordings is a sequel to his second found footage film, The Woodmen.
“I’m excited about jumping back into this universe. When we filmed The Woodmen, we all knew this wasn’t the end of the line,” Brucker said. “We said we needed to get the band back together and finish off this story line in a very epic, bloody way. To include Mr. Berryman in the production, this is a defining moment in my career as a filmmaker.”
The Woodmen focused on a small group of individuals, lost in the Great Smoky Mountains, fighting for their lives against a clan of feral humans who hide in the National Park. The Forge Creek Recordings picks up about a year later. Ben Logan, who survived his ordeal, returns to expose a growing cover-up: The National Parks Services actively knows of the growing threat.
Michael Berryman is set to play Otis Greves, a mysterious mountain man who shares a deadly secret with his family.
“As a found footage horror fan, this film has everything I love about the genre. It is a direct sequel to one of my previous films, but we expand the lore in a very creative way and we up the stakes, offering a bit more mystery and tension,” Brucker promised. “We are telling the story in a way that let’s this stand on its own feet. I think audiences will love what we are putting together. It’s bloody, brutal, and a great way to send this series off.”
Returning to portray their original roles are Hunter Nino, Anna Clary, L.C. Holt, Nancy Anne Ridder, Leonora Scelfo, Bailey Harrington, Michael Rock, and Bryden DiGenarro. Apart from Berryman, newcomers to the cast include Celeste Blandon (Phantom Fun World), John Potash, Thomas Burke, and Bryan Kruse.
The Woodmen is currently available on Amazon Prime for rent or purchase.
