Just in time for Christmas in July (or Mithras in July if you’re pagan-y), GNOME SICK: 7 SLAYS TIL MITHRAS is here to deck your halls with blood, laughs, evil gnomes and Santa Slasher carnage.
Available NOW to rent or buy on Amazon and Fandango At Home, this twisted seasonal satire arrives ahead of its free release on Tubi July 1st.
“Gnome Sick is Joe Dante by way of John Waters,” says writer/director Mike L. Taylor, whose background in VFX and viral videos (like Zomboobies) shines through in every gonzo frame. “We wanted to make something nostalgic and suburban, but also absurd and unhinged – kind of a “What if Midsommar was a LifeTime Holiday Film?’”
THE STORY:
Pete Grunderson returns to his hometown of Christmas, California, only to find his family missing. Did they become victims of the multi-generational Santa Slasher… did he transform their corpses into murderous, mind-controlled, evil-gnomes? Is his high school sweetheart Anne involved in a strange Craft Faire Cult? And what do gold bones, gorey goo, FBI agents, and ancient pagan rites have to do with all of it?
All roads lead to the horrifying (and hilarious) truth: Pete is…Gnome Sick.
THE CAST:
Starring Bryan Forrest (Never Hike Alone, Video Game High School) as Pete and Lennon Hobson (Bloody Bridget, Cannibal the Musical) as Anne, the film also features Rachel Rios, Ian Reier Michaels, and Pyar Anderson (United, Exposé) in supporting roles.
Produced by Loren Semmens (The Woman, Dead Season) and Bryan Forrest, Gnome Sick blends old-school practical gore, 3D animated gnomes, and Rankin-Bass-style holiday nostalgia with a loving nod to slashers, cult horror, and Christmas classics gone off the rails.
