
The Squid Farm, a filmed entertainment production company focusing on elevated genre, and Phantom Films, in association with Icon International, today announced the conclusion of principal photography of the horror feature dATE. The movie was filmed in various locations in Los Angeles.
A horror pulp fairy tale, dATE tells the story of a gorgeous model whose looks come with a gruesome secret. It stars Olivia Rose Keegan (High School Musical, Gotham Knights), Maddie Phillips (Teenage Bounty Hunters, Gen V), Mishel Prada (Vida, The Continental) and Alexander Bertrand (The Surfer). The movie also features Michael Paré (The Virgin Suicides, Streets Of Fire), Zach Tinker (Fire Country, Big Sky), Emmy nominee Dot-Marie Jones (Glee, Bros) and Derek Mears (Friday the 13th, Swamp Thing).
dATE was written and directed by Scott Milam. Milam previously wrote the films Mother’s Day and Submerged as well as scripts for Paramount, Universal, Dark Horse Entertainment and Rogue Pictures. dATE is Milam’s feature directorial debut.

Model Lydia Carver (Keegan) is living her best life – glamorous fashion shoots by day and hitting the dating scene at night. There’s just one little catch: in order to keep her stunning looks she must indulge her appetite…and there are only so many men.
Since being formed by Tara L. Craig in 2017, The Squid Farm has produced numerous features including Shook (Shudder), Out of the Blue (Quiver), Guest House (Lionsgate), 3022 (Saban), Sheroes (Paramount) and Bang (Saban). Producing alongside Craig is Meredith Riley Stewart, who is also a cast member. Her previous producing credits include The Greatest Inheritance (Vertical) and For When You Get Lost.
This is the first project from Phantom Films, founded in 2025 by Joe Poletto in collaboration with Icon International, with a focus on financing film and television projects and supporting them through advertising.
