Womp Stomp Comics Debuts with Ghost Chicken!
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our very first graphic novel, Ghost Chicken, based on the award-winning horror comedy script by Vincente DiSanti.
Womp Stomp Films, the independent production company known for the Never Hike Alone series, is expanding into the world of comics with the launch of the Ghost Chicken graphic novel. Based on the multi-award-winning script by director Vincente DiSanti, Ghost Chicken promises a unique blend of horror, humor, and unforgettable characters.
Ghost Chicken is a horror-comedy about a vegan restaurant that becomes the unlikely home of a supernatural haunting. When the ghost of a chicken begins terrorizing staff and customers alike, one determined young woman sets out to uncover the truth behind the restless spirit. What she discovers is a mystery that blends scares, satire, and a surprising amount of heart.
The GHOST CHICKEN graphic novel is a 7×10, 50-page horror/comedy misadventure based on DiSanti’s award-winning original script. Adapted by writer Scott Alan Gregory, known for his work on the acclaimed Ripped to Shreds graphic novel, illustrated by Italian artist Samuele Giannicola, and featuring a stunning cover by Hernan Gonzales, this project brings the haunting tale to life in a bold and unexpected way.
“The story means a lot to me,” said Vincente DiSanti, director and creator. “I was literally inspired one day while sitting in a vegan restaurant at the final stop on the Never Hike Alone festival tour. Ever since then, the script and its characters have really stuck with me. Over the years, I’ve continued to refine it, and I’m absolutely thrilled to partner with Scott and Apostrophe Books to finally share this spooky little story with horror fans.”
The graphic novel is being funded through a Kickstarter Campaign, offering exclusive rewards for early supporters, including limited-edition hardcover copies, poster art, character designs, and other collectible items. The book will be available in softcover and hardcover editions, along with a special limited-edition hardcover variant by Thiago Motta, created exclusively for Kickstarter backers.
“This is probably the most fun I’ve ever had working on a campaign,” says adaptive director Scott Alan Gregory of Apostrophe Books. “Vincente has been super collaborative, and we’ve found a fantastic group of artists to put the story on the page.”
If successful, the Ghost Chicken graphic novel is scheduled to be completed in early 2026, paving the way for additional titles to launch in the coming year and opening the door to a possible animated film.
