LOVELORN DOLLS Gives True Crimes Victimes A Voice With New EP

Darkwave act, LOVELORN DOLLS has just unveiled their haunting new four-track EP, True Crimes.

True Crimes resurrects some of history’s most chilling unsolved mysteries. The band’s trademark mix of gothic melancholy, cinematic atmosphere, and sharp alternative edge evokes comparisons to Theatre of Tragedy, Lacuna Coil, The Birthday Massacre, and Marilyn Manson.

Each track gives voice to the voiceless: “Dahlia Bleeds” revisits the brutal fate of the Black Dahlia. “Velvet Little Voice” embodies the ghost of JonBenét Ramsey. “The Boy in the Box” tells of America’s forgotten child while “Call Me Your Ghost” channels the cryptic menace of the Zodiac Killer. Together, they form a requiem of cold cases, where
truth and myth bleed into song.

The cover artwork mirrors the EP’s unsettling spirit: a little goth girl stares at an investigation board, piecing together crimes too big for her hands, embodying both innocence and obsession. She becomes the listener’s stand-in — drawn into a world of unanswered questions and spectral voices.

Adding to this new chapter, LOVELORN DOLLS are now joined by Eric Renwart, their third member: live guitarist and sound engineer, with over 30 years of experience in the scene. His presence brings both raw energy on stage and a refined depth to the band’s evolving sound.

With True Crimes, LOVELORN DOLLS invite us into the shadows: to listen, to shiver, and to remember.

True Crimes is available on all major digital platforms including Bandcamp and Spotify.

LOVELORN DOLLS is a Belgian dark rock duo formed in Brussels in 2010 by singer Kristell Lowagie and multi-instrumentalist Bernard Daubresse. Blending elements of gothic rock, darkwave, industrial, and melodic pop, the band is known for its cinematic soundscapes, powerful guitars, and ethereal female vocals. Their music draws comparisons to artists like The Birthday Massacre, Lacuna Coil, and Marilyn Manson, while retaining a distinctive identity rooted in dark romanticism and haunting atmospheres.

LOVELORN DOLLS released their debut album, “The House of Wonders” (2012), on the Belgian label, Alfa Matrix, introducing their signature blend of dark pop melodies and gothic textures. This was followed by “Japanese Robot Invasion” (2014), which expanded their sound with stronger electronic influences and a more experimental edge. After a brief hiatus, the duo returned with “Darker Ages” (2018), a mature and introspective work exploring themes of fear, faith, and transformation.

In 2024, LOVELORN DOLLS unveiled “Deadtime Stories”, a concept album inspired by horror tales and cinematic storytelling, reaffirming their place on the European dark music scene. Their forthcoming release, a 4-track EP titled “True Crimes” (2025), continues their evolution with a rawer, more narrative-driven approach inspired by real-life tragedies and lyrical intensity. With their theatrical aesthetics, immersive live performances, and evocative songwriting, LOVELORN DOLLS have built a loyal following in the dark alternative scene, captivating audiences across Europe and beyond.
