TERROR FILMS RELEASING has teamed with writer / director Jason Hawkins to release his found footage horror film, “The Night Devours”.
Starring Hawkins, Corinne La Fors, Jakai Hawkins, and Jason Reynolds, the film follows an aging serial killer as he looks back on his life and the events that have brought him to this point in time.
Hawkins shared their thoughts about the making of the film:
“Nature vs Nurture is one of the oldest debates in psychology, especially when it comes to violent criminals like serial killers. Having grown up in extreme poverty, with a violent, alcoholic father, I saw firsthand how easy it was for people to slip through the cracks and be shaped by their environment, despite their nature. This got me to wondering, and to exploring that impact on violent criminals; in particular the phenomenon of the American serial killer.
Were they born bad, or made that way by events in their lives? Our film, The Night Devours led me to exploring these ideas through the lens of a man who knows what he is, and is wondering what he might have been if things had been different; and that's the real tragedy of the story – he didn't have to be this way. He didn't have to become a killer. We shot this film in a gritty, first-person style with the intent of submerging the audience in the realism of the events as they unfold. It's not just a 'serial killer film', it's an experience.”
TFR will premiere the film across multiple platforms on November 7th, 2025, including Chilling, Scare Network TV, Kings of Horror, Watch Movies Now, Shocks & Docs, TFR’s official AVOD YouTube channel, and many more. Check out the official poster and clip, courtesy of TERROR FILMS RELEASING.
