Sometimes a film festival win means more than just laurels. David Kerr’s The Slasher Nurse took home a win for Best Feature Length Film at the Carolina Fear Fest, which was sponsored by The B Stream. Less than a year later it also earned them a streaming release.
Now, the 2025 festival gem which stars such names as Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp), Diana Prince (The Last Drive In’s Darci the Mail Girl), Beverly Randolph (Return of the Living Dead), and Brian Bremer (Pumpkinhead) is a B Stream exclusive! The film releases on both TVOD and SVOD on TheBStream.com (Roku/iOS/Android) Friday, March 27th. This is the only place in the world you’ll be able to see the film until its wider release slated for July.
“Timing is everything,” Chief Operating Officer Brad Leo Lyon shared. “Eleven months ago, David left the Carolina Fear Fest with a best feature award, and we left with notes on an engaging film. A year later The Slasher Nurse finds its way back onto my desk the same week Joe Bob Briggs’ The Last Drive In is canceled. When we saw Darci the Mail Girl was in it, we couldn’t help but pay tribute to a TV series we love while helping a superb film find the audience it deserves.”
The B Stream released a double feature of two films John Bloom (aka Joe Bob Briggs) co-starred in and gave him his own category on the service shortly after the finale of The Last Drive In aired on Shudder. Licensing The Slasher Nurse as an exclusive was the second act of homage The B Stream performed after genre website ScreamDesk.com launched a featured article titled “Joe Bob Briggs Got Shoved Out of Shudder. The B Stream Should Be His Next Home.”
Operating as a subscription streaming service, The B Stream releases movies and TV series in the uncensored manner they receive each title. It never interrupts its subscribers’ movie watching with advertisements and even features a social media element it calls The Hive. Here subscribers can interact with each other, post their own videos and photos, and even request movies to be licensed. Subscriptions are available as low as $5.99 a month when purchased annually or no commitment required for only $7.99 a month. It can be found at thebstream.com and through your Roku, Apple and Google Play App stores.
