A Retired Psychiatrist Confronts a Deadly Past in the New Thriller Blak Magic

What happens when the past you’ve spent a lifetime analyzing refuses to stay buried?

This April, Bayview Entertainment invites audiences into the psychological labyrinth of Blak Magic, a gripping new thriller that explores the thin line between professional detachment and personal obsession.

The film follows a retired psychiatrist who has traded clinical sessions for the quiet reflection of writing his memoirs. His peace is shattered by a single phone call from a former patient, dragging him out of retirement and into a frantic investigation of a recent suicide. As he pulls at the threads of the case, he is lured back into a subterranean world of dark sexual desires—a world that threatens to destroy his sanity and tilt his life into permanent imbalance.

Blak Magic is a singular vision from filmmaker Demetrious Edwards, who serves as the film’s director, writer, and lead actor. Joining Edwards is a compelling ensemble cast featuring Todd Williams and Dexter Smith. Together, they weave a narrative of suspense that questions how well we truly know the people around us—or ourselves.

“We are thrilled to bring Blak Magic to audiences,” says Bayview Entertainment. “It’s a haunting, provocative look at the shadows we all carry, anchored by a powerhouse performance from Demetrious Edwards.”

Blak Magic will be available this April. Prepare to lose your balance.
