Quiver Distribution’s The Well continues its partnership with WaterAid ahead of World Water Day to spotlight the global water crisis still affecting millions of people every day. The film is available on digital and on demand today March 20, 2026.
Directed by Hubert Davis (Black Ice) and written by Michael Capellupo and Kathleen Hepburne, The Well takes place in a future world in which environmental collapse has left survivors to fight over the precious remaining resources. After discovering a wounded man, a young woman’s loyalties are tested when he finds out her family has a secret supply of fresh water.
The collaboration between WaterAid and The Well began earlier this year alongside the film’s Canadian theatrical release by Vortex Media, where $1 from every ticket sold supported WaterAid Canada’s work to improve access to clean water, sanitation, and hygiene in communities around the world. The partnership was designed to connect audiences not just to the story on screen, but to the real-world solutions already underway.
With the film now reaching wider audiences through digital platforms just ahead of World Water Day on March 22, WaterAid is encouraging viewers to reflect on the role water plays in every aspect of life and the reality that millions of people still live without access to it.
WaterAid Canada’s CEO, Justin Murgai said:
“This story resonates because it reflects a reality millions of people face every day. Water is fundamental to health, education, and economic opportunity, yet access to clean water is still not guaranteed for far too many. Partnerships like this help connect audiences to that reality and to the solutions already making a difference.”
The Well stars Joanne Boland (Train 48), Noah Lamanna (Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, The Last of Us), Sheila McCarthy (Orphan Black, The Umbrella Academy), Steven McCarthy (Mary Kills People), and Shailyn Pierre-Dixon (The Best Man Holiday, Suicide Squad).
The film is now available on digital and on demand in the US via Quiver Distribution. Purchase today on Amazon, Fandango at Home, and Apple TV.
