Dark Sky Films will release the psychological horror thriller WHO’S WATCHING on digital platforms and select theaters across the United States on September 18, 2026 (Roxy Cinema in New York City and Laemmle’s Glendale in Los Angeles). Written and directed by acclaimed songwriter, musician, and filmmaker Tim Kasher, the film marks the latest feature from the frontman of influential indie rock bands Cursive and The Good Life. Bringing his signature blend of confessional storytelling, dark humor, and psychological depth to the screen, Kasher crafts an unsettling tale that blurs the line between paranoia and reality. Ahead of its digital debut, WHO’S WATCHING will embark on a nationwide theatrical tour, with select advance screenings accompanied by live performances from Kasher.
WHO’S WATCHING stars Zachary Ray Sherman (A Desert, Under the Banner of Heaven), whose performance in the film earned him the Best Actor Award at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, alongside Gracie Gillam (Superhost, Fright Night, Teen Beach Movie), Olivia Luccardi (It Follows, Soft & Quiet, The Baltimorons), and Steve Berg (Don’t Worry Darling, Tag). Written and directed by Kasher, whose decades-long music career has earned him a devoted following for emotionally raw, narrative-driven work, the film marks his most ambitious feature to date. The film is produced by Tim Kasher, Maher Jafari, Liz Renner, and Josh Ethier.
Official Synopsis: Eccentric musician and aspiring filmmaker Caleb becomes obsessed with his new coworker, Krista, secretly documenting every aspect of her life in an effort to make her the subject of his latest film. As Caleb’s fixation intensifies, the lines between observer and participant begin to blur, pulling him deeper into a dangerous spiral of surveillance, manipulation and obsession. As the cameras keep rolling, the question becomes increasingly unsettling: who is really watching who?
Greg Newman, Executive Vice President of Dark Sky Films says, “Tim Kasher has spent his career exploring relationships and the darker corners of human behavior through his music, and WHO’S WATCHING brings those same themes to the screen in a deeply unsettling way. Anchored by Zachary Ray Sherman’s extraordinary performance, it’s a smart, provocative thriller that lingers long after it ends. We’re also excited to partner with Tim on these special screening events, which give audiences the opportunity to experience the film before its release alongside intimate live performances.”
Writer/Director Tim Kasher adds, “This film has been over a decade in the making, evolving through countless drafts before becoming the story it is today. I’m incredibly proud of what we created, and the performances from Zachary Ray Sherman, Gracie Gillam and Olivia Luccardi brought it to life in ways I could never have imagined. I’m thrilled to finally share this creepy story with audiences and to bring it on the road for these special screenings.”
Ahead of its digital release, Kasher will embark on a WHO’S WATCHING roadshow of special theatrical preview events. Each event will feature an advance screening of WHO’S WATCHING followed by a short acoustic set and Q&A with writer/director Kasher.
