BUDDY, the star of his self-titled breakout hit, continues to slay at the box office in its second week.
The Roadside Attractions and Saban Films release grossed an estimated $5,745,284, up five percent from its opening weekend (Cume: $14,262,585). Last week, the film earned $5,363,827, doubling projections. This is the biggest opening of the year for a film playing fewer than 1800 screens (1771 theaters) – a big feat for an independent, non-franchise, rated-R horror film.
BUDDY is Roadside Attraction’s highest opening weekend since the pandemic and also its second highest opening in its 23-year history. The film is also Saban Films’ highest opening in its 12-year history.
BUDDY also hit a milestone. In just one week, BUDDY has more than doubled his following, crossing ONE MILLION+ fans across social platforms (@buddytheunicorn) – TikTok, IG, X, FB, YT, Discord and the opt-in Buddy Clubhouse texting program.
On Thursday, BUDDY was caught being escorted out of Universal’s HALLOWEEN HORROR NIGHTS. The footage has gone viral and has received five million views across BUDDY’s own social platforms alone.
BUDDY is certified fresh at 89 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
