A bizarre new horror-comedy featuring the Greasy Strangler himself, Michael St. Michael, has completed production: My Shadow.
The film finds inspiration in various nods to cult classics like Reanimator, Pet Sematary, and Little Shop of Horrors – All pushed through the splendor of grainy black and white, with hints of occasional color.
“Robert, a painter, struggles with the sudden demise and grisly resurrection of his best friend – a Rabbit named Shadow. Now, all Robert wants to do is take the girl-next-door Sydney to the Jovial Halloween Ball and have a good time. But it’s hard to have fun when your best friend aspires to be a rock n roll singer and won’t stop eating the people you know.”
Michael St. Michael plays a supporting role as a mad scientist type – Dr. Dollar, who has found and commodified irresponsible means of bringing the deceased back from death.
The first trailer had its world premiere at the Genreblast Film Festival at the Alamo Drafthouse in Winchester, Virginia.
My Shadow (2027) is the third feature film of writer/director Jeff Frumess. His previous films included Romeo’s Distress (2017) and Gouge Away (2023).
