• 2008 – Writer Arthur Ross passed away at the age of 88. His screenplays include “Creature From the Black Lagoon,” “The Creature Walks Among Us,” “Satan’s School For Girls” and episodes of “Alfred Hitchcock Presents.”
• 2005 – Moustapha Akkad passed away at the age of 75. He produced the original “Halloween” and all it’s subsequent sequels.
• 1997 – Producer William Alland, whose film credits include “It Came From Outer Space,” “Creature From the Black Lagoon” and “This Island Earth,” passed away at the age of 81.
• 1979 – Conductor Dimitri Tiomkin, passed away at the age of 85. His music was used in the films “The Mummy’s Curse,” “The Cat Creeps” and :The Thing From Another World.
