Rumors of a continuation of the Cloverfield phenomenon have run rampant ever since the found footage creature feature became a hit in 2008. Although most of the rumors died off by early 2014, fans of the movie held out hope that the film would spawn a sequel…and it looks like all the waiting may have paid off!
During a screening of Michael Bay’s 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, movie-goers were treated to a sneak peak teaser trailer of a film currently titled 10 Cloverfield Lane. The trailer, released by Paramount Pictures, features Mary Elizabeth Winstead, John Goodman and John Gallagher Jr. hanging out in some sort of bomb shelter following a nuclear fall-out. The odd noises and threat looming just outside the shelter have some cinema buffs theorizing that the nuclear fall-out was caused due to a last ditch effort to stop a whole herd of Cloverfield monsters.

10 Cloverfield Lane is written by Josh Campbell and Matt Struecken and is directed by Dan Trachtenberg. It currently has a tentative release date set for March 11, 2016.
