Syfy Channel is ready to debut its brand new reptile attack movie – Mega Python vs. Gatoroid. The film, produced by The Asylum, is set to premier on January 29, 2011 at 9:00PM. The horror film, fronted by former pops star Tiffany and Debbie Gibson, is one of many low budget movies to be shown on SyFy Channel about gigantic animals, or animal hybrids in some cases, that just randomly appear and start eating the public. The plot is vaguely described as, ” There’s a crisis in the Florida Everglades as giant pythons are threatening the alligator population.” If you want to hear how silly this film is, check out this tidbit of information I found online in the trivia section of IMDB. “At the end of the party brawl between Nikki (Debbie Gibson) and Terry (Tiffany), Nikki says, “I think… we’re alone now.” This is a reference to a song covered by Tiffany in her 1987 self-titled debut album. “I Think We’re Alone Now” reached #1 on the Billboard charts in the U.S.” Sorry, but it’s doubtful I’ll be checking this one out. Fans of nature gone wild horror films should probably give it a look though.
