I’ve had my eye on Rebekah Kennedy ever since she starred in the After Dark Original BASTARD. She’s an underrated independent talent who deserves more attention due to her ability to tap into and emote some of the most devastating emotions in a believable way. Some of this talent will be on display in a new short film, Amy, which started its film festival run in October 2017. Due to the cast and crew involved, I think it’s safe to say that Amy will have a fantastic run in the big screen circuit.
According to Screen Anarchy, the plot follows a woman named Mary as she cares for many sick and ailing guests at her residence, including Amy. Delivering refreshments to relieve her guests during the Summer heat, Mary warns Amy not to venture from her room at night lest she disturb the other guests. Wracked with pain, Amy ignores the warning and leaves her room, and discovers that her host has been keeping a dark and deadly secret from her guests.
Shot under Old Lime Productions and based on the screenplay by Peter Cilella, Amy is directed by The Devil Incarnate and June‘s L. Gustavo Cooper. The duo previously worked on another horror short film hit – 2016’s Home. Rebekah Kennedy (also known for Creature and To the Bone) stars in Amy alongside Danielle Kennedy (Lizzie, “Narcos”), Tom Fitzpatrick (Insidious 2, Insidious 3) and Samantha Ann (“American Horror Story”).
Raymond Esposito, Nick Phillips and Kevin Sisti Jr. produced.
Look for future screenings of Amy at a film festival near you!
