What do you get when you mix zombies, robot invasions, and one determined chef who refuses to let the apocalypse kill his cooking dreams? The answer is Cuisine de la ‘Pocalypse, a wildly original post-apocalyptic comedy from writer/director Kyle Weingart.
Starring Kevin Sorbo, Natasha Leggero, and Emilio Rivera, the film premieres on October 15, 2025, and will be available to stream across the U.S. and Canada on Google Play, and YouTube Movies & TV, and more, through independent distributor Indie Rights.
With its blend of humor, heartfelt underdog spirit, and nostalgic nods to ‘90s comedy classics, the film, the Apocalypse is here. John, an aspiring chef with dreams bigger than his survival skills, refuses to let the end of the world cancel his cooking show ambitions. Living in the quirky, off-the-grid town of New Missoula, he uploads his culinary masterpiece to the town’s barely functioning internet. Suddenly, the apocalypse has a very public audience—and the rest of the town panics. They recruit their toughest, most battle-ready citizens to stop the broadcast. John? He’s still in the kitchen. After all, what good is a chef when the world is literally falling apart?
“Cuisine de la ‘Pocalypse is a film about not letting the end of the world get in the way of you following your dreams. It is a tribute to the timeless masters of comedy such as Mel Brooks, Steve Martin, and Monty Python. It will make you feel like you’ve just rented a VHS from Blockbuster, cracked open a pop, and are about to kick back with your old gang,” said writer/director, Kyle Weingart
The film features an ensemble cast, including Kevin Sorbo (Reagan/Hercules and the Circle of Fire), Natasha Leggero (He’s Just Not That Into You, Monster High), Emilio Rivera (Sons of Anarchy, Venom), Kevin Jack (Gossip Boy, Method to Madness), Zuzu Weingart (Yellowstone, Butcher’s Crossing), Douglas “Hurricane” Hall (Somewhere in Montana, Nexus of Evil), Mighet Matanane (Somewhere in Montana, Call of Duty: WWII), Braeden Sorbo (Left Behind: Rise of the AntiChrist), Darryl Chan (Planet of the Apes, Heroes), and newcomer Nelo Butler.
The film was produced in Bitterroot Valley of Montana by local filmmakers under 99 Productions LLC. The producing team includes Joe Borden, Eden Matson, Zuzu Weingart, and Kyle Weingart, with co-producer Joe McNeal. Executive producers for the feature are Michael and Kiomi Burks, who helped bring this original post-apocalyptic comedy to life.
