Nightmares Film Festival returns this fall for its 10th edition, taking place from October 16-19, 2025, at Gateway Film Center.
Leading short films for the 10th edition include A GOOD DEATH, written and directed by Kaz PS and starring Tracie Thoms, Stefanie Estes and Jenny O’Hara. The short horror tells the story of Amalia, a devoted death doula who arrives at the home of her new clients and immediately begins to suspect that something is very, very wrong.
A GOOD DEATH kicked off its festival run with a Best Director win at Toronto Horror Film Festival, and a Best Horror Short win at Calgary Horror Con, and had its US Premiere at LA’s Hollyshorts Film Festival, marking writer/ director Kaz PS’s 3rd outing at the Oscar® and BAFTA qualifying fest. Most recently it won Queen of Horror and Best in Fest at Horrific Women’s Film Festival in San Antonia TX.
Nightmares Film Festival 2025 with be the short’s Midwest premiere, and will mark Kaz’s 1st outing at the festival.
