Brutal Sci-Fi Space Goblins Unleashes a New Trailer and Poster

A gritty hybrid sci-fi film inspired by cult genre classics
Space Goblins, the upcoming independent sci-fi action feature from filmmaker Ams Overton, has unveiled a brand-new poster, a brand-new trailer, and a set of official screenshots, offering the most comprehensive look yet at the film’s brutal, lived-in universe.

Currently in production and targeting a late 2028 release, Space Goblins is a full-length feature film inspired by the cult classic animated short of the same name. The new film expands that world into a larger, darker live-action experience, fusing live-action performances, practical creature effects, miniatures, animation, CGI, and AI-assisted imagery into a single, cohesive cinematic language. The late-2028 target represents a soft deadline, allowing the project to evolve organically without compromising its creative ambition.

The film draws tonal inspiration from hard-edged sci-fi landmarks such as RoboCop and Dredd – films where satire, violence, and uncompromising world-building collide.

Set in a lawless sci-fi wasteland, Space Goblins follows two goblin brothers – bounty hunters scraping by on the margins of civilization – whose latest job pulls them into a conflict far larger than themselves.

The original animated Space Goblins short received critical acclaim on the genre circuit, including coverage from Film Threat, helping establish the property’s cult following and paving the way for its expansion into a feature-length film.

Producer Michael Joy says:
“Space Goblins is one of those projects that comes around once in a lifetime. It’s so creative and on the edge of being genre-defining. Ams Overton is crafting magic with these characters and the whole presentation. I don’t just want to be a part of this film, I need to be a part of this film.”

Produced independently and self-funded, Space Goblins is being developed outside traditional studio systems, with a focus on long-term craftsmanship and creative freedom.

New promotional materials – including the poster, brand-new trailer, and official screenshots – are available now.
