Psychological Horror Film ‘MAMOCHKA’ to Premiere Jan 16

Trub Film Co. and BayView Entertainment are proud to announce the release of Mamochka, a new psychological horror feature film directed by Vilan Trub.

Following a series of exclusive sneak previews in Westchester County and a prestigious selection at the UK’s Horror-on-Sea Film Festival, the film is set for a wider release beginning January 16, 2026.

The Story of Obsession
Mamochka follows Mark Gajewski (Alexander Kollar), a suburban husband who inherits an antique, Nazi-era heirloom doll. What begins as curiosity quickly descends into a dark fixation, fueled by a mysterious figure who introduces Mark to a worldview built on historical distortion and the dangerous power of myth. The film explores the disturbing consequences of “Reductio ad Hitlerum”—the philosophical concept of stripping historical weight from ideology to suit personal obsession.

A Local Production with International Reach
Filmed in and around Pleasantville, NY, the production heavily featured local Westchester cast and crew members.

Director/Writer: Vilan Trub
Cast: Alexander Kollar, Maya Murphy, Dino Castelli, Joshua Danskin, and Andrew Steiner
Original Score: Jason Binnick

Director’s Vision
Director Vilan Trub describes the film as a “weird experience” designed to avoid the tropes of modern horror. “I didn’t want to make an impersonation of an impersonation,” Trub stated in a recent interview. “Ultimately, it’s a drama about a scary and unsettling subject”.
