Trailer: Female Led Gay Vampire Flick “What’s Wrong Wendy?”

Valentine’s Day is long wrapped up but that doesn’t mean we’re past the chocolates, flowers, lovers and… checks notes)… sapphic situationships? Introducing What’s Wrong Wendy, a film that follows one very high and very gay pizza girl as she rekindles her high school connection on Valentine’s Day just in time to die. Will her Valentine still love her as a vampire? Keep your audience in the lovey-dovey spirit and share the new official trailer and poster that just dropped!

Wendy Day (Spooky Madison) is just an ordinary pizza girl hopelessly stuck on red-headed heartbreaker Victoria Sinclair (Alexandra Boulas). But when their high-school situationship reignites on Valentine’s Day, Wendy wakes up changed — faster, stronger, and with a penchant for violence. She’s not the girl Victoria left behind. Hoping to save Wendy, Victoria teams up with a pair of unlikely allies, Arlo (Tova Weinberger), a local occult expert, and Sam (Anthony Dain), a police officer with a dark past. Can they band together with one goal or will they fall apart when it matters most?

Blending blood, gore, romance, and action, What’s Wrong Wendy uses pop-horror to explore the teen girl body-horror of identity; what it means to find yourself when others are determined to define you. Anchored by a deeply developed ensemble cast, the film centers a queer love story and explores themes of identity and regret, reclaimed autonomy, and found family.

What’s Wrong Wendy will premiere at its primary filming location, Greenlawn Cemetery, in Columbus, OH during a one-of-a-kind Hollywood Bash event in September 2026. Keep an eye out for the official date announcement! The film will also make its rounds on the festival circuit throughout 2026.
