VCI Entertainment Announces Creepy-Creatures Double-Feature on Blu-ray & DVD

On April 21, VCI Entertainment proudly presents the global Blu-ray debut of Creepy-Creatures Double-Feature: The Slime People + The Crawling Hand, featuring brand new 4K restorations from the original 35mm negatives.

Originally drive-in favorites of the ‘60s, both films later gained cult notoriety after appearing in the first season of Mystery Science Theater 3000. The Collector’s Edition release includes High Definition (1080p) Blu-ray presentations of both films, hours of special features, and
newly commissioned extras. A DVD edition will also be available.

Tom Gregory (Robert Hutton, They Came From Beyond Space) lands his private airplane in Los Angeles and discovers the city is nearly deserted in The Slime People. A wall of fog has enveloped the city, and the fearsome Slime People have risen from below to conquer humanity; their scaly, bumpy forms armed with spears used to slay their victims. Tom fights
back with a group of people that includes Professor Galbraith (Robert Burton, I Was a Teenage Frankenstein), his daughter Lisa (Susan Hart, Dr. Goldfoot and the Bikini Machine), goat-toting writer Norman Tolliver (Les Tremayne, King Kong vs. Godzilla), and others. Can they find the secret to force the Slime People back to their subterranean habitat?

The Slime People is a testament to what can be done with a camera, a small group of actors, a few hideous costumes, and a massive fog machine.

A nightmare falls from the sky in The Crawling Hand. A mission to the moon goes awry and the astronaut begs mission control to destroy the capsule during re-entry. Scientists Steve Curan (Peter Breck, The Sword and the Sorcerer) and Max Weitzberg (Kent Taylor, Death
Takes a Holiday) realize the astronaut is alive without any oxygen. Something from the lunar surface has possessed him. They hit the destruct button and the capsule blows up and leaves a debris field across California. Slacker student Paul Lawrence (Rod Lauren, Black Zoo) and his girlfriend Marta Farnstrom (Sirry Steffen, The Beverly Hillbillies) discover the astronaut’s arm on the beach. Instead of handing the arm over to Sheriff Townsend (Alan Hale, Gilligan’s Island), Paul takes the body part to his house. This leads to trouble as the limb comes alive, looks for victims, and takes control of Paul. Can the scientists, with their assistant Donna (Allison Hayes, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman), stop this one-armed invasion?

Special features include an audio commentary on The Slime People by Tom Weaver; an audio commentary on The Crawling Hand by Rob Kelly; Exploring 1950’s and 60’s Sci-Fi, Creature-Features featurette; two-sided sleeve with original cover art by Robert Kelly and Retro Artwork; classic drive-in sci-fi movies poster gallery; and a collectible booklet.
