What starts as a routine audition quickly turns into a blood-soaked nightmare in WE CAN’T LEAVE, a new slasher arriving on Digital and VOD May 12, 2026, from Dark Star Pictures.
Set inside a remote, maze-like building, the film follows a group of actors who realize far too late that the endless hallways, locked doors, and masked figures stalking them aren’t part of the script. As the screams turn real and the body count rises, escape becomes impossible—and survival is the only role left to play.
Written and directed by Mike Lordi (Abandoned in the Dark), the film leans hard into practical tension, stripped-down storytelling, and a high body count—hallmarks of DIY horror done right.
“WE CAN’T LEAVE was born from a love of old-school horror and the grind of independent filmmaking,” says Lordi. “I wanted to take the familiar world of auditions and twist it into something bloody, fun, and darkly humorous dragging the audience through the worst audition night imaginable.”
