DEAD BODIES EVERYWHERE
Writer, Director, Producer, Editor and Co-Star, Shea Vanlaningham brings us his vision of the “Cabin in the Woods Slasher” genre, ‘Dead Bodies Everywhere’.
Seven friends set out on a weekend getaway. Upon arrival to the cabin, the group splits up to check out the scene. Quickly we are introduced to serial killer, Arthur Grigsby, who studies his prey from afar, biding his time to quench his blood-lust. As night falls and the fire crackles; tales of a mad man emerge from the smoke and within minutes, these gruesome stories turn into vivid reality as Arthur picks the partiers off one by one until there are ‘Dead Bodies Everywhere’.
For me, knowing the characters were doomed, made me want to see them die in some new and creative ways. Unfortunately, I was let down. There were however, a couple good kills, some witty dialogue and actually the Grigsby origin flashback scenes were the most memorable. The rest of the film left much to be desired.
This low-budget independent film gave it a good try but I think I wanted and maybe expected a little more; especially with a title like ‘Dead Bodies Everywhere’.
