Crowd Funding: Todd Staruch & Desiree Pearl’s “3:14 AM”

After enduring years of psychological abuse and control by her domineering husband, a sleep-deprived wife reaches her breaking point.

3:14 AM is a psychological horror-drama centered on a woman trapped in an emotionally abusive marriage. During a seemingly pleasant dinner party, subtle signs reveal the controlling nature of her husband, David. Once their guests leave, his charming public persona disappears, and he berates his wife over imagined mistakes, gaslighting her and reducing her to a state of fear and submission.

As the night progresses, the film explores the extent of David’s emotional abuse through both present-day interactions and flashbacks. The woman is constantly blamed, dismissed, and manipulated, leaving her isolated and dependent. Even a simple attempt to discuss David’s chronic snoring becomes another example of his refusal to listen and his ability to turn every issue back onto her.

Finally, the woman reaches her breaking point and takes action.

3:14 AM will be directed by Todd Staruch, is written by Desiree Pearl and will feature cinematography by Mark Boutros. Heather Drew is tapped to star as the wife.
