Horror isn’t always found in the obscure, sometimes it’s based in reality.
Model, nurse and true crime specialist Rebekah Herzberg returned to horror in 2026 with an appearance in Amityverse: Endgame. Next year is proving to be just as eventful as Herzberg has recently announced her intent to produce a new movie titled BATTU. She describes it as “Lovecraftian” and “grotesque,” but there’s so much more to it than science fiction and gore.
Rebekah states that she wrote BATTU seven years ago. It’s partially based on parts of her life, and every character was written to represent a figure she once knew. The script is filled with horror, grief and trauma, but it’s also informative in its own way as it will focus on aspects of PMDD. This is a good time to buckle up and learn something new, especially if you think you may be suffering from PMDD.
Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder is a severe case of premenstrual syndrome which causes mood shifts, depression, anxiety, brain fog, fatigue, sleep changes, bloating, headaches and muscle pain. Harvard Health reports that 1 in 20 women will experience PMDD.

The last vestiges of her sanity slip away after a brutal sexual assault from a local predator and friend she rushed to for rescue from a physically abusive relationship. Unbeknownst to her, the man she valued as her close friend held many secrets. The nightmares and flashbacks become more intense, making it hard for her to distinguish the difference between reality and fantasy.
