Additional Info

On March 4th, 2011, I started shooting footage for a horror anthology film I wrote called Hometown. Hometown had actually began it’s life as Something To Turn Your Stomach in 1994. However, it wouldn’t be fully realized until 17 years after it was originally written. I had just left a film project that I was working on with some people that, frankly, had no right even trying to make a movie. Slightly depressed but now infected by the film bug, I decided I was not going to let that experience keep me from my dream of making a feature length horror film. I immediately pulled out Stomach and began rewriting it as Hometown. Within 2 weeks, I had a shooting script and I began the arduous task of casting friends in the roles I had written. Like most no budget horror films, this casting process could easily have been the death of the film. With no money and only a promise that we will finish this movie, I trudged on. Along the way, friends were recast and schedules were constantly changing but I did my best to keep a good attitude about the project. I am not going to lie and say that there weren’t times when just calling it quits would have been easier but I was determined and worked my way through it. This movie was going to happen. We wrapped on Feb. 22, 2011, just under a year from when we started. Over the course of the year, I constantly rewrote the script, had a screening of 1 of the stories in the film to raise money, tried to raise money on the internet and pushed friendships to the brink of destruction. You have to do it, though, if you really want this. There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but you may enter some dark corners on your way there. Honestly though, this could never have been done without the good folks who got involved. I thank you all for your efforts large or small. You all made my movie happen and I will forever be in your debt for that.
