Indie production The Mangled

The Mangled features the directorial debut of Lawrence W. Nelson II from a script that he also wrote, but from what I see he’s put himself together and amazing cast of horror legends, indie screamqueens, and hot up and coming actors. You’re already hooked aren’t you? — So who are they?

The always amazing and prolific actor Bill Mosley (House of 1,000 Corpes, The Devil’s Rejects) is stepping into the role of Bill Bates, there’s little known about what his character is, but from some of the pass tag lines suggested, he sounds like he’s going to be pushed to the limits to find his daughter Daisy Bates. Then there is Frank Bates, Bill’s older brother who is being played by the awesome Michael Berryman (Hills have Eyes) — amazing right? Priscilla Barnes (The Devil’s Rejects) is playing Bill’s wife Margaret. Endwin Neal (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) taking on the role of Grandfather Bates how cool is that? Rounding out the Bates family is the beauitufl Mindy Robinson ( Lizzy Borden’s Revenge) and up and coming actresses Sophie Gotberg, Carla Acosta.

Rounding out the cast is the delightful indie screamqueen Elissa Dowling, who is also stepping into the role as producer,Juliet Reeves, Morgan Lester, Rebecca Olejniczack taking on the interesting name of “Pet”, Tyler Thomas Turner, along with Hoyt Richards. So what is this film about?

In this dark slasher film that says it’s gets inspired by The Texas Chainsaw Massacre the orginal – On a stormy night in Texas, the Bates are setting up for a 25th Anniversay party, when they begin to get terrorized by some teenagers. As the night dwindles on a group of helpless college students on their way to Florida, show up on their doorstep one of them seriously wounded. Cletus Bates is coming!

While the film is slated to be still in pre-production, they also have legendary horror composer Harry Manfredini (Friday the 13th) and SFX company Hawgfly Productions Inc. to bring to life the blood and gore. To be shot some time next year with a release date of 2013. This is sure going to be one hell of a bloody ride.
