Robert Downey Jr. To Tackle Werewolf Horror Comedy ‘Cloaked’!

avengers assemble premiere 5 200412This is what I like to see, more werewolf films with big budget Hollywood behind them. The latest lycanthropic project is coming from none other than Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr.  Downey Jr. and his production shingle Team Downey have pitched a werewolf horror comedy entitled Cloaked to be written by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World) for Warner Bros. Read on for more details.

Deadline is reporting, Warner Bros has acquired Cloaked, a pitch that will be scripted by Derek Connolly and will be produced by Warners-based Team Downey partners Robert Downey Jr. and Susan Downey.

The pitch is based on an idea by Robert Downey Jr., and the Downeys developed the concept with the writer before bringing it to the studio. They’re keeping the logline under wraps, but it’s a supernatural horror comedy in the vein of An American Werewolf In London, which perfectly threaded the needle combining laughs and scares.

Connolly has been writing huge movies. His last two credits, Jurassic World and Monster Trucks, are currently in production at Universal and Paramount, respectively. Connolly did substantial rewrites on each of those projects. Team Downey’s Amanda Burrell will oversee the project with Warner Bros execs Cate Adams and Jon Berg.

It is unclear if Downey Jr. will star in the film or just produce.

We will be keeping a close eye on this one and will let you guys know any news as it happens!
