Dread (2008)

Directed by: William Victor Schotten Schotten Films

Let’s just set this straight right out of the gate here, Dread is a low budget Horror movie that some people won’t even give a chance and that’s a shame. So it doesn’t have state of the art visual effects but I will tell you this, the sound that the two demons make are enough to send chills down your spine. Honestly their green and black makeup works in making them seem uber creepy.

A familiar face plays the priest, Bill Hinzeman from Night Of The Living Dead fame. He sports a nice purple shiner from a disgruntled demon that also stole his clothes. Russ is a hard ass punk that feels he is above all and they should bow down to his every whim and desire. While out one night he has his palm read and she tells him he needs to change his ways or suffer the consequences.

Something has locked itself in Russ’s bedroom and is festering and getting stronger everyday. You can tell by the sound of it that there is pure evil pulsating in there. His friend Murph was sent up there to get the battery cables for the car and was too scared to even go open the trunk. Suddenly these two conscious less men are starting to quake in their boots.

For all of you out there that don’t give indie’s a chance I guarantee you if you were out in the woods and either dread x or y came tromping out at you, that you would shit your pants! As soon as they open their mouths to speak it sounds like the bowels of hell are coming out and judging each person of their actions. Trust me I would not want to be guilty with them around!
