Issue 4 was a bit disappointing. Ash, Alice, and Tina have to get out of the Project Black Book facility alive, but not before being attacked by one of Freddy’s minions. Jason and the deadites are loose on DC, slaughtering anyone they can find. Freddy takes Jacob hostage, and intends to take over the entire country. Now Ash, Alice, Tina and Stephanie must gear up and take on the deadites.
This issue was mainly disappointing because of the art. They switched artists for this issue (except for a small nightmare sequence in the middle which was done by Jason Craig), so for most of the comic, everything looks to cartoonish. Why the publishers decided to do this is a mystery, but it doesn’t help the issue any. Overall, the action and writing were still good, but the art didn’t really illustrate it very well. Characters’ outfits changed, everyone looked a lot thinner, and they just didn’t look like themselves.
