Street Anatomy

Hearts, livers, and skulls – oh my!!

I have a fascination with weird things so I was super happy when I came across a new (to me) website. Street Anatomy obsessively covers the use of human anatomy in medicine, art, and design.

The founder of the website Vanessa Ruiz is an “art director, medical illustrator, blogger, and all out anatomy fanatic”. The site focuses on the many visual forms of anatomy. And there really are so many forms – everything from fashion to food to  tattoos to 3D illustration. A quick search in the Interior Design category lead me to skull wallpaper, skeleton furniture, cat scan pillows, a vertebrae lamp and more. Then the design category had me squealing for joy when I found an artsy anatomical apron with matching hot pad and posters galore.

The products range from creepy baby head bowls to the milder Pixskullz shirt but there is something to suit everyone whether your an art collector or just like weird stuff like me.
