HORRORBLES Edgy and Funky Trunk Shows

HORRORBLES EDGY & FUNKY TRUNK SHOWS IN JANUARY

BERWYN (January 23rd, 2010) –  Horrorbles is hosting two amazing trunk shows in the new Galerie this January.  The first features Lisa Koziol-Ellis Saturday, January 23rd from 7:30pm-10:30pm.  Ms. Ellis left the Health Care field after ten dedicated years to pursue her career as a full time artist.

Recently she has made her professional debut in BIZARRE magazine under the name FOXY GOAT, having her art work published and also being voted as an ULTRA VIXEN of the November 2009 issue. Lisa is also an official member of Hot & Heavy Burlesque, Chicago’s hardest rocking heavy metal & horror burlesque revue whom will be performing that evening for the last 30minutes of the exhibit .

After a successful previous year of group shows, she is excited to reveal her insatiable lust for the bizzare in her first solo exhibition. The show will be an eccentric culmination of drawings, watercolors, and unique jewelry pieces, hosted by Gallerie Des Terrors. Art work and jewelry will be for sale as well as limited edition prints.

BERWYN (January 30th, 2010) –  Horrorbles second show features Alana Malia Saturday, January 30th from 7:30pm-10:30pm.  For those whom have visited the new Galerie, many know about Alana’s custom purse’s that are on display, but did you know that she also designs hand-tailored corsets?

Alana dusted off her grandmother’s sewing machine and began experimenting with a mid-18th century corset pattern. After many years of experimentation, she finally created the perfect pattern for a surprisingly comfortable, yet devestatingly sexy corset!

A student of costume history and design, Alana Malia’s inspirations come from historical dramas, gothic novels, pictures of Victorian burlesque, and pin-up art of the 40’s & 50’s.

Every corset is custom tailored for the individual in their choice of fabrics and design. Each can take up to 2-4 weeks to complete as they are lovingly made by Alana herself. Each corset is a unique piece of art, designed to be as special as the woman wearing it.

So come out for an incredible showing of her work, get a custom fitting and enjoy an evening that offers what no other lifestyle store even comes close to!

Photographer James Sorfleet will be complimenting this amazing event that evening with an exhibit of his photography as well! All displayed pieces will be available for sale with James present all evening!

Horrorbles in not your old school, dusty, collectibles shop.  Currently featuring hard to find and out of print classic movie titles, original lobby cards and posters from classic films, models, figurines, original books & magazines as well as apparel, jewelry,  new magazines and literature, and novelty gifts as well as the gallery and lifestyle additions which have just been introduced.
