Rites of Spring Casting

For those of you in or around Mississippi, the good folks at Rites of Spring are looking to cast their upcoming Horror Film, Rites of Spring! Below is the synopsis of the movie as well as character breakdowns and what exactly they are looking for.

SUMMARY:  After abducting the young son of a wealthy businessman, a group of kidnappers escape to an abandoned farmhouse, unaware they share their hideout with a supernatural creature preparing for its seasonal killing spree.

BEN GERINGER  (25) – LEAD
Good-looking man. Surrounds himself with the wrong people.   Ben is a good person who has fallen into a bad situation. Ben hates who he has had to become in order to survive financially, but feels he has no other options. SIMULATED NUDITY REQUIRED

RACHEL ADAMS  (22) – LEAD
Smart with a natural beauty, Rachel is a corporate climber who works for Ryan Hayden’s company.   She’s abducted from a bar by the Stranger and taken to a farmhouse where she’s stored for the spring sacrifice to the Creature. Rachel escapes the Creature, only to seek refuge with a group of kidnappers.  She is a fighter and manages to survive the night.

PAUL NOLEN  (31) – LEAD
A handsome, charismatic man with a heart of stone. Paul is a ruthless sociopath who has been in and out of prison. Intent on getting what he wants at any cost. Later, we find out that he has plans to kill everyone else and take the money.  SIMULATED NUDITY REQUIRED

AMY PEEL  (25) – LEAD
A very striking woman. She is manipulative and knows that Ben will do anything she asks.   She later realizes the wrong that she has done and tries to amend. Ultimately, Amy is sacrificed to the Creature.  SIMULATED NUDITY REQUIRED.

RYAN HAYDEN  (38 – 48) – SUPPORTING
Father of Kevin and husband of Gillian.  Ryan is a self-made billionaire.  When his wife is brutally slain and his son kidnapped, Ryan fights to get his son back.  He nearly succeeds, but Jessica, the double-crossing nanny, shoots him in the back.

ALYSSA MILLER  (22) – SUPPORTING
Rachel’s best friend. A hell-raiser who always speaks her mind and gets into trouble.  She is kidnapped and sacrificed to the Creature. NUDITY REQUIRED

TOMMY GERINGER (19) – SUPPORTING
Ben’s younger brother.  Slow and can’t keep a secret.  Does whatever his brother tells him to do. Tommy is held captive by Ryan Hayden and forced to take him to the kidnappers’ hideout. Tommy is killed by Paul.

KEVIN HAYDEN  (8 – 10) – SUPPORTING
Son of Ryan Hayden.  He is kidnapped but later escapes his captors when the Creature attacks.

JESSICA  (29) – SUPPORTING
Jessica has worked for the Hayden family as Kevin’s nanny for a few years.   She and her secret lover, Paul Nolan, conspire to kidnap Kevin and hold him for ransom.  Paul and Jessica plan on killing their partners and taking the money themselves, but their plans fall through when Jessica is killed by the Creature.

THE STRANGER (50s) – SUPPORTING
An old farmer who abducts and sacrifices young people to a supernatural creature on the first day of spring. He is a man tortured by his role in the ritual.

GILLIAN HAYDEN (32 – 45) – Four Scenes
Loving mother of Kevin and devoted wife to Ryan.  Gillian is murdered by Paul Nolen.

BARTENDER (late 40s) – One Scene
Attractive and friendly. She makes sure Rachel and Alyssa are set with beers on the night of their abduction.

KARMANOR  (THE CREATURE) – A supernatural killer who needs to kill every spring in order to survive.  He is part mythology and part man.

VERY TALL & MUSCULAR PREFERRED. STUNT WORK REQUIRED, MUST BE OK WITH WEARING FX MAKEUP.
